As general manager of the Flood Communications Norfolk division, which includes US92 (KUSO-FM), The New 94 Rock (KNEN-FM) and News Channel Nebraska TV, Angie Stenger knows Northeast Nebraska well. Growing up in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa, with parents who owned a local real estate and auction company, Stenger learned the value of community involvement at a young age. She started in radio at age 15, working both on-air and in the news room of KILJ AM & FM throughout her high school years. Stenger then attended Goshen College in Goshen, Indiana. She spent a semester abroad teaching English in the Sichuan Provence in China. After graduation, she expanded her knowledge of radio working for B100 in South Bend, Indiana. Stenger returned to China in 1999, for a 1-month mission trip, during which time Mike Flood began recruiting Stenger to Northeast Nebraska to help launch US92. After making the move in spring of 2000, Stenger met and married her husband. She and her husband, Jeremy, now have a daughter, Josie, and the family attends First United Methodist Church in Norfolk, Ne. Angie believes in success through service. “Not only can you make your community better, but yourself better through giving freely to others. Whether it be through time, money or talents, volunteering is a powerful activity that can have a transforming affect on both yourself and the person or group of people to which you are lending a hand.”
Mike Flood founded Flood Communications 1999 and owns Nebraska’s largest rural media broadcast network. He works hard with a dedicated staff to deliver news and information to small towns and rural communities often forgotten by traditional media. Mike is a leader in new media technologies and is an advocate for advancing efforts to highlight the good things happening across our state. Mike found broadcasting at age 15 and fell in love with the business. He says that nothing could beat the opportunity to start a radio station in his hometown and to serve his community with news, sports, music and entertainment. Mike attended Norfolk Catholic Schools and earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the University of Notre Dame. After college, he stayed in South Bend, Indiana for one year and worked mornings on B100. He then returned to Nebraska and earned his law degree from the University of Nebraska. Mike launched US92 radio in Norfolk with the help of Angie Stenger and Dave Amick. The station quickly became part of the fabric of northeast Nebraska and has remained one of Nebraska’s top radio stations for over 18 years. Flood Communications began in 1999 and now owns eight radio stations in Norfolk, Nebraska City, Beatrice, Fairbury and the state’s largest Spanish speaking radio station in Omaha. In 2015, Mike launched Norfolk’s first television station and has since added new television stations in Columbus, Beatrice, Sioux City, Omaha, Lincoln and Grand Island. These radio and television stations work together as a statewide media network called “News Channel Nebraska.”
